Eni | Knowledge Capture: a Step Forward in the Use of Artificial Intelligence

Digital transformation is a crucial topic for Eni, ensuring competitiveness and making its business increasingly integrated, efficient, and sustainable. Leveraging the potential of Artificial Intelligence means opening up to new possibilities, exploring new frontiers, and overcoming limitations. The introduction of Generative Artificial Intelligence represents an important tool for the research and dissemination of existing knowledge within the company.

We live in an era where knowledge is the true driver of innovation. But how often is it lost? How many valuable ideas, experiences, and insights go undocumented, forgotten, or remain inaccessible?

“Knowledge Capture” is an Artificial Intelligence system that complements and extends the capabilities of Generative AI.

The Challenge

How useful would it be to have a tool that can process as input documents of various types (e.g., texts, videos, PowerPoint presentations, podcasts, etc.) on the same topic, and, through keywords, read them, extract a summary, and generate a final output document structured into chapters?

This would make it possible to optimize existing information and make it quickly accessible.
Collect, organize, and enhance.

The “Knowledge Capture: a Step Forward in the Use of Artificial Intelligence” challenge (hereinafter the “Challenge”) aims to develop ideas (such as apps or software/hardware solutions) that enable the “capture” and synthesis of information.

Eni invites you to propose a rapid knowledge capture solution with a feasible example.

🏆 Winning Project: Summy

Summy is a software solution designed to capture, understand, and synthesize content from diverse sources (written texts, videos, slides, audio/podcasts, PDFs) related to the same topic. Its goal is to gather scattered knowledge, recognize connections between sources, and present it as a single structured document divided into chapters, easy to navigate and coherent.

At the core of the application is a multimodal artificial intelligence engine capable of:

  • Extracting keywords and recurring concepts from each content piece,
  • Analyzing semantic relationships between sources,
  • Generating an organized summary with titles, subtitles, and coherent content, ready to be consulted or exported.

Summy doesn’t just summarize: it organizes, enhances, and delivers information with the reliability of an expert assistant. Its interface is simple and responsive: just upload the files, select the common topic, and get the final document in a few easy steps.

Bhblasted | Create your own AI Agent to optimize social media advertising campaign performance

In today’s digital landscape, multi-platform advertising campaigns are managed by marketing teams facing complex challenges daily: analyzing KPIs, comparing metrics from various systems, and optimizing performance in real-time. These often manual and fragmented activities consume resources and slow down decision-making.

With the advent of generative AI and intelligent agents, it’s now possible to automate, enhance, and simplify the entire advertising management cycle, making it accessible even to small or non-technical teams.

This challenge aims to democratize data-driven online advertising optimization, offering agile and customizable tools for those working in multi-account or multi-platform environments.

The Challenge

How can we design an application that supports marketers, agencies, and growth teams in optimizing online ad campaigns?

The software should connect to multiple advertising accounts, automatically gather data from platforms like Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, or LinkedIn, analyze key metrics such as CTR, CPA, or ROAS, and generate clear, actionable insights—even in natural language.

The goal is to design a program that goes beyond just observing data—it should suggest targeted actions like budget redistribution, creative modifications, or pausing underperforming campaigns. The system must be capable of answering questions like “Which campaign performed best this week?”, generate concise reports, and improve over time with feedback.

The project can be presented as an interactive dashboard or a chatbot integrated into daily work tools such as Slack or Telegram. The aim is to demonstrate how AI can make performance marketing faster, simpler, and more accessible—even for small teams with limited resources.

🏆 Winning Project: AdGenius

AdGenius is an intelligent assistant for managing ad campaigns, combining “a Telegram bot” and “an interactive dashboard”. Our solution automates the analysis of key metrics (ROAS, CPA, CTR) in real time and provides “understandable recommendations” based on AI.

Key features:

  • The Telegram bot answers queries (e.g. “Which campaign is performing best?”) and sends **automatic notifications** about critical issues.
  • The dashboard (Streamlit) visualizes data from Meta, Google and TikTok and suggests **concrete actions** (reallocate budget, change creatives).
  • “AI Recommendation button” generates recommendations with one click (e.g. “Increase budget on campaign X – expected ROAS 4.2x”).

Why is it important?

We eliminate manual work: no more comparing data from different sources. Even small teams can now make “fast and accurate decisions”, saving time and resources.

EAV | Revolutionize public transport for a more sustainable, accessible, and efficient future

As environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and digital transformation of public services become global priorities, EAV is aligned with these values—publishing a sustainability report and a three-year digital transition plan for three years now.

Their initiatives include installing solar panels in Ponticelli (replacing and reclaiming 15,000 sqm of asbestos and generating 1.3 million kWh/year), station relamping projects, and the use of electric buses (in addition to already electrified train lines, which EAV aims to power with renewable energy).

Public transport itself is a key lever for sustainable change. EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno), a mobility leader in Campania, is launching a challenge for young innovators to enhance the travel experience.

With new trains expected soon (after delays due to external issues), the aim is to rethink the relationship between citizens and urban mobility through smart digital solutions that:

  • Encourage public transport usage, making it more appealing than private vehicles
  • Simplify the passenger experience, making it more informed, interactive, and enjoyable
  • Ensure full accessibility, removing physical, cognitive, or tech barriers
  • Optimize operations using data, algorithms, and smart technologies

The Challenge

EAV invites participants to design a digital solution that meaningfully improves the public transport travel experience, making it more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

In a context where sustainable mobility is essential, innovative proposals are encouraged to simplify the passenger-service interaction, reduce private vehicle usage, and foster user trust—especially with new trains coming soon.

The goal is to develop a tool that guides citizens through their daily journeys, improving communication, usability, and accessibility of regional public transport. Teams may propose solutions ranging from informational or decision-support tools to those focused on inclusion, intermodality, and service personalization—gathering feedback and emphasizing sustainability and social impact.

🏆 Winning Project: EAVoilà

The project aims to solve one of the main problems that always pervades over time: optimizing the daily experience of both citizens and tourists. The application has as its main objective “simplicity” and “instantaneity”. Through these two principles, the app provides an experience that upon contact with all locomotives (both internally and externally) displays a QR Code through which direct communication of the desired route occurs. Furthermore, the camera scan can receive right from the train the possibility of understanding whether it is the right train for you. The aim is not to replace existing tools for consulting means of transport but to provide a more direct and immediately useful tool to ensure that people can (even without consulting the tables) get on or not on a certain EAV means of transport.

Techvisory | Search Driven Analytics

In today’s highly dynamic business environment, performance management requires agile and intelligent tools capable of quickly adapting to both internal and external changes. Organizations are increasingly expected to make strategic decisions in shorter timeframes, relying on vast amounts of data from heterogeneous sources.
Techvisory proposes a challenge aimed at designing a software capable of supporting teams and managers in governance by providing early insights, predictive assessments, and operational decision-making support to optimize processes and results.

The Challenge

Participants will propose solutions to develop a software capable of generating reports based on natural language queries. The solution must be able to extract information from a knowledge base (typically documents in Word, PDF, or Markdown) and display dashboards with aggregated data, all driven by natural language requests.

It is suggested to structure the solution in two steps:

  • Extraction of predefined information from documents within the knowledge base;
  • Access to the extracted data via natural language queries.

Participants should also describe how to extend the solution to allow extraction and reporting on data not previously extracted.

The solution must leverage AI while ensuring:

  • GDPR compliance;
  • Use of pre-trained open-source models;
  • Optimization of hardware resource consumption (limiting the use of generative models)

🏆 Winning Project: Search Driven Analytics

The solution created for the Techvisory challenge is a dashboard that allows you to upload different types of company documents and query the data present within the documents through requests in natural language. Starting from the data extracted from the documents, the system generates graphs and tables appropriate to the type of data whose visualization has been requested. Open-source AI models are used to extract structured data from the documents and to convert requests from natural language to an appropriate query language. In particular, LLMs such as Llama or others. Local models ensure that sensitive data remains private and not exposed to the network. Furthermore, you can choose a more or less powerful model to optimize memory consumption and inference times.
