Participation Regulations
1. Objectives and description of The Big Hack 2025 – eighth edition
These Regulations concern the running of the event called “The Big Hack 2025 – eighth edition” (hereinafter “Hackathon” or “Event”) organised by Campania NewSteel with registered office in Via Coroglio 57, 80124 Naples, Tax Code and VAT No. 08499461211, hereinafter also “Organiser“) with the support of the Technical Partner Codemotion S.p.A. with registered office in Rome, Via Marsala 29h, Tax Code and VAT No. 12392791005 (hereinafter “Technical Partner” or “Codemotion“).
The event is also promoted by the University of Naples Federico II, Department of Physics “Ettore Pancini”, with registered office in the Monte Sant’Angelo University Complex, Via Cinthia 21, 80126 Naples, Tax Code and VAT No. 00876220633 and Innova Camera, Special Company of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, with registered office in Via de’ Burrò, 147 – 00186 Rome, Tax Code and VAT No. 100203811006 as part of the Maker Faire Rome / PID – CCIAA Rome project (hereinafter also “Promoting Companies” or “Promoters“).
At the sole discretion of the Organiser, the initiative may also be sponsored and promoted by other parties, also in free of charge mode, with the aim of increasing visibility and promotion.
The Hackathon will be structured in thematic “challenges” promoted by the companies participating in the initiative (hereinafter, the “Partner” or “Sponsor“) that will be communicated before the Event and is addressed to anyone interested in the themes of AI, Mobile, Cybersecurity, IoT, Energy, Mobility, Gamification, Virtual Assistant, Industry 4.0 and, more generally, to all issues related to technological innovation of products and services, with the aim of presenting project ideas (hereinafter “Project(s)“) that respond to one of the proposed challenges with a technological and innovative approach. The Hackathon is aimed at all those (hereinafter, the “Participant(s)“) who fall within the inclusion criteria referenced in Article 2 below.
These Regulations (hereinafter, the “Regulations“) constitute the set of rules governing the participation in and conduct of the Hackathon and all activities, including promotional and advertising activities related to it. The Regulations constitute a contract between the Parties.
2. Target audience
The event is aimed at innovators, developers, engineers, web and mobile designers, UX and UI specialists, data scientists, start-up founders, experts in digital marketing, AI, product and communication, and more generally, anyone interested in the topics covered by the challenges composing the Hackathon. Participation in the Hackathon, whose official language is Italian, is in “Teams“, free of charge, and open to all individuals over the age of 18, whether Italian or foreign, with the exception of employees of the Organiser, the Promoters, and the Partners, as well as their relatives up to the second degree or cohabitants. The following are therefore allowed to participate:
- • Teams consisting of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 5 people;
- • Individuals. In this case, participants hereby agree to be assigned to teams formed by the Organiser or the Technical Partner, based on the profile and experience of the individual participants, as well as their aptitudes and skills.
3. Registration and participation in the Hackathon
a) Registration for the Hackathon is personal, free of charge and is formalised by registering on the Technical Partner’s platform www.codemotion.com (hereinafter also “Platform“), subject to acceptance of the latter’s terms and conditions of use and the related privacy policy, and subsequent registration for the Event, which can also be reached from the link: https://events.codemotion.com/hackathons/the-big-hack-2025-ottava-edizione/home
b) The Event will be held in person, and participants are required to:
- register on the Platform and then, in the specific section dedicated to the Hackathon, fill in the registration form available at the link https://events.codemotion.com/hackathons/the-big-hack-2025-ottava-edizione/home, which will be followed by a confirmation email to the address provided during registration. Registration for the Hackathon is open from 13 June at 4:30 pm CEST to 28 June at 4:00 pm CEST. If an excessively high number of participants is reached, the Organiser reserves the right to close registrations early.
- During registration, Participants will be required to provide the following data (in addition to privacy-related consents):
o personal data of the individual Participant
o email address. - Be present at the venue of the Event, which will be hosted within the Apple Developer Academy in Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani, 70, 80146 Naples NA.
Further information will be available on the Event website.
c) Participants will be admitted to the Hackathon on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the order in which the registration procedure is completed. Participants may register individually or as part of an already formed team, provided that each participant must still register individually.
d) The formation and composition of teams or individual participants in the Event will be formalised during the Hackathon registration process through a specific member invitation function, and each participant may join only one team. Each team will be identified by the name chosen by the members themselves for the Project. Under penalty of exclusion of the entire group from the Event, The name of the Team may not correspond or refer, even partially, to known or registered company names and/or trademarks, nor may it contain or be associated with expressions that incite violence, discrimination, obscenity and/or defamation.
e) Each Team has the possibility to choose only one single challenge among those proposed by the Partner companies.
f) Each Participant who registers guarantees that the personal information provided at the time of registration is true and correct. If the Organiser ascertains that the information provided during registration is not true, it may order the exclusion of the Participant.
g) Participation in the Event implies, on the part of each Participant, full acceptance of these Regulations and the granting, where necessary, of consent to the processing of personal data and presence at the venue of the hackathon itself on 28 and 29 June 2025.
h) The Participant is informed that participation in the Hackathon does not, in itself, determine any right to receive compensation, for any reason, and that any expenses related to it will not be incurred and/or reimbursed by the Organiser.
4. Running the Hackathon
a) The Hackathon will open with the access of participants to the physical venue of the event from 9.00 a.m. CEST on Saturday 28 June 2025 and will end with the closing event on 29 June 2025. For any technical needs, the Organiser reserves the right to change the days and times of the Event and to cancel it before it begins – at its sole discretion – without this generating any liability for the Organiser. Any change to the days or times of the Event will be notified to the email address provided by the Participants during registration and will be announced on the Event website.
b) Via the website https://events.codemotion.com/hackathons/the-big-hack-2025-ottava-edizione/home, the Organiser may at any time advise the participants of the times of the opening and closing events of the Hackathon, which will take place on the days of the Event itself. Information on the official schedule of the opening and closing events, the agenda and the procedures will be announced on the Event website. At least one representative of each Team is required to be present at the closing event.
c) During the Event, which is structured around individual challenges promoted by the Partners, the Participating Teams will be supported in the development of their respective projects by mentors who are industry experts, developers, IT professionals, and technicians (hereinafter referred to as “Mentors“). The methods of use will be published during the launch of the Event on the Hackathon website. The Mentors shall act as independent third parties and will not in any way favour one Participating Team over other Teams. Mentors shall follow the guidelines provided by the Organiser and the Technical Partner to ensure that work submitted by the Participants is original.
d) During the Hackathon, checkpoints will be planned with the Mentors to monitor the progress of the Projects, the schedule and methods of which will be made known to the participants on the Event website. For the Project to be valid, each Team must participate in at least one of these checkpoints.
e) Each participating Team must submit its Project for review no later than 12.00 p.m. CEST on Sunday 29 June 2025, using the specific application form available at https://events.codemotion.com/hackathons/the-big-hack-2025-ottava-edizione/home
f) Each Project must contain the following mandatory information:
- the name of the Project
- an image or logo of the Project;
- a brief description of the Project, including the chosen challenge;
- an extended description;
- keywords (tags);
- a link to access the database containing all the materials useful for evaluating the Project;
- a link to the video pitch presenting the Project with a maximum duration of 4.00 minutes (the maximum duration of the video cannot exceed four minutes; otherwise the Team will be excluded).
At the Team’s discretion, other useful links to describe the Proposal may be inserted in the pertinent fields. Any additional information on how to present and submit the Project will be specified through an email that will be sent to the email address notified during registration.
5. Jury and evaluation
a) At the end of the Hackathon, the Projects presented by the Participating Teams will be evaluated by a jury (hereinafter the “Jury“), appointed at the sole discretion of the Organiser and the Partners involved. The winning Teams will be announced during the closing event, the agenda and procedures of which will be announced on the Event website.
b) For each challenge, the Jury will evaluate the proposals submitted by the Teams, based on the following criteria:
- Usefulness and Value
- Relevance to the proposed Challenges
- Clarity and completeness of the Project
- Design/User Experience
- Creativity and Innovation
c) At the end of the activities, each member of the Jury will assign each Project a score from one to five (e.g., where five expresses the maximum evaluation). After the score has been awarded, the Jury will decide the final ranking of the Projects in the competition.
d) The Participants are informed and expressly approve that the evaluation criteria and the Jury’s judgement are final and not subject to appeal, and hereby waive the right to raise objections or complaints against the Jury’s decision.
6. Benefits for participants and prizes
a) At the end of the Hackathon, the winning Teams of each challenge will be announced. The winners of each challenge will be awarded the prizes offered by the Event Partners, which will be published on the Event website. On a discretionary basis, the Jury may grant additional awards to other teams in case of projects deemed worthy of interest.
b) Unless otherwise specified in the description of the challenge prize on the Event website, the distribution of the prize among the members of each winning group will be defined by the members of the group itself. The members of the winning teams may not contest the amount or nature of the prize awarded, nor request the corresponding cash value or exchange/replacement for any reason. No further obligations apply.
c) The Organiser reserves the right not to award the event’s allocated Prizes if the projects are not, at the Jury’s sole discretion, compliant with the level of the Hackathon’s objectives and purposes.
d) Pursuant to Article 6(a) of Presidential Decree 430/2001, the Event does not constitute a contest or a prize-winning operation and is excluded from the application of the relevant discipline, since its object is the presentation of projects or studies in the commercial and/or industrial field, with prizes being awarded in recognition of the winners’ personal merit, as well as encouragement in community interest.
7. Obligations and responsibilities of participants
a) By registering for the Event and accepting these Regulations, each participant undertakes to comply with the rules of the Hackathon and to behave, at every stage of the same, in accordance with the principles of ethical behaviour and good faith. At their sole discretion, the Organiser and the Technical Partner reserve the right to exclude from participation in the Hackathon any Participant and/or Team that does not comply with the provisions of these Regulations and those who, with fraudulent or unauthorised manoeuvres, hinder and/or attempt to alter the proper functioning of the award mechanism and, in any case, to compromise the success of the entire Event.
b) The Participants, among other things, expressly undertake to observe the following minimum rules of conduct:
- to respect other Participants
- not to use, under any circumstances and in any context, expressions that incite violence, discrimination, obscenity and/or defamation
- to avoid content that is offensive, defamatory, vulgar, related to advertising, political/ideological, religious, that infringes privacy or is otherwise contrary to the law,
- ethical behaviour, and good faith;
- to develop projects that are in line with Hackathon’s objectives
- in the presentation of their designs, not to infringe: copyright, trademarks, patents or other intellectual and industrial property rights
- not to breach the right to privacy and data protection of third parties or other Participants.
c) Each Team is exclusively responsible for the content of its Project, therefore no direct or indirect liability may be attributed by anyone to the Organiser and/or Promoters, the Technical Partner and/or the Partners with reference to the content of the Projects. Each Participant undertakes, as of now, to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser and/or the Promoters and/or the Technical Partner and/or the Partners from any claim, including damages, that may be made, for any reason, in connection with the Project submitted.
d) Under no circumstances may the premises where the Hackathon and related events are held be used:
- for carrying out activities prohibited by law or otherwise contrary to public order or morality
- to carry out activities that may represent a danger to property or people present at the Event, or to cause hindrance or impediment to the regular conduct of the Event itself
- for carrying out activities in violation of the rights of third parties, having regard, by way of example, but not limited to, trademarks, patents, copyright, etc. the parties accept that the Participant is obliged to use the spaces in accordance with the indications and directives issued from time to time by the Organiser and/or the Technical Partner, as well as any other applicable regulatory provisions – safety regulations, fire regulations, etc. In any case, the Participant is required to be informed of and comply with the Organiser’s provisions.
e) In case of doubts concerning the correct use of spaces, the Participant is obliged to contact the Organiser, who reserves the right to prohibit the performance of any activity contrary to the provisions of this article, without this entitling the Participant to any compensation for sums or other expenses invested for participation in the event. The Participant is aware that the Organiser and/or the Technical Partner does not own or have any other real right to the venue where the Event will take place. The Participant also declares to know the venue of the Event and to consider it a safe and suitable place to carry out the activities covered by the Hackathon. The Organiser and/or the Technical Partner and/or the Promoters and/or the Partners shall therefore not be liable for any damage suffered by the Participant due to theft, robbery, fire, earthquake, unavailability of services (electricity, internet, etc.), and any other incident, except in cases where the damage is directly attributable to the wilful misconduct and/or gross negligence of the Organiser. The Participant is required to supervise the materials used for participation in the Hackathon for the entire duration of the Event.
f) By accepting these Regulations and participating in the Hackathon, each Participant undertakes, with the utmost care and diligence and for its entire duration, to use the materials, Platforms and technologies that may be made available by the Organiser and/or the Technical Partner and/or the Partners and/or the Promoters, and will strictly adhere to the rules of safety and conduct provided and to any instructions given by the Organiser and/or the Technical Partner and/or the Partners in order to ensure the safety of all Participants.
8. Limitation of liability
a) The Technical Partner undertakes to maintain and manage the Platform www.codemotion.com using the best experience available to ensure its efficiency.
Without prejudice to the foregoing:
b) The Organiser, the Promoters, the Technical Partner and the Partners shall not be held liable in any way for any damage including, by way of example and not limited to, indirect, consequential, special, incidental damages, nor for any damages and/or anomalies that may occur and that are beyond their technical control, such as, by way of example, malfunctions in the management of the IT networks or malfunctions due to defects in the means necessary to access the Platform, or improper use of the same.
c) Furthermore, any liability of the Organiser, Promoters, Technical Partner and Partners for the interruption of their services resulting from force majeure is excluded, including, by way of example and not limited to, sabotage, fires, floods, earthquakes, strikes, defective operation of the Platform resulting from the incorrect operation of telephone, electrical and global and/or national network lines due to faults, overloads or interruptions not attributable to the Organiser and/or the Technical Partner and/or the Partners and/or the Promoters.
d) The Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners cannot be held responsible for the non-receipt or incomplete receipt of the electronic registration to the Event, for any reason whatsoever. The Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners, therefore, cannot be held responsible if the data relating to the registration of a Participant are not received or are illegible. In this regard, Participants are reminded that the Internet may be subject to technical difficulties that may cause slowdowns or hamper connectivity. The Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners shall not be held responsible for any problems encountered in accessing the website and/or the online registration process caused by the loss of the internet, maintenance work or the malfunctioning of the Hackathon servers.
e) Each Participant is exclusively responsible for their individual access to the Internet. Each Participant undertakes to participate in the Hackathon at their own risk. During the Event, each Participant is required to take all appropriate measures to safeguard its data and/or software stored in its computer equipment from any attack (e.g. by installing antivirus software and firewalls).
f) The Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners shall not be held responsible, among other things, for any contamination by any computer virus or for the intrusion of third parties into the Participant’s computer equipment. The Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners shall not be held responsible for any damage caused to the Participants, their computer equipment and the data recorded, as well as for any consequence on their personal or professional activity.
g) Each Participant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser, the Promoters, the Technical Partner and the Partners from any damage, prejudice, loss, cost, expense (including legal), penalty in which the same should incur as a result of the participation itself.
9. Intellectual property rights
a) All names, trademarks, logos, graphic interfaces, texts, user interfaces and computer code and other distinctive signs mentioned or reproduced on the website dedicated to the Event are protected by copyright, trademark or other intellectual and/or industrial property rights and, therefore, remain the sole and exclusive property of their authors and rights holders. The reproduction and/or representation of all or part of Hackathon elements is strictly prohibited.
b) All data (including photographs and texts) provided to the Participants by the Organiser and/or the Technical Partner and/or the Partners and/or the Promoters during the Hackathon remain the exclusive property of the Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Partners and the Promoters, respectively. Each Participant undertakes to use such data so that it remains separate and divisible from the Project.
c) The authorisation granted to the Participants to use the data provided by the Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Partners and the Promoters is limited to the duration of the Event. Any use of the data outside the purpose of the Event is prohibited unless a separate agreement has been concluded in advance between the Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Partners, the Promoters and the Participants, respectively.
d) Any logos or distinctive signs of third parties may be represented on the Event website and on the Platform. These logos or distinctive signs are shown for descriptive purposes only, and all rights to them belong to their respective owners.
e) Each Participant expressly declares that each Project, prototype, idea, proposal or part thereof submitted in the context of the Hackathon is original and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties in any way, in whole or in part: to this end, each Participant undertakes to indemnify the Organiser, the Promoters, the Technical Partner, the Partners from any and all liability, claim for damages and/or compensation that may be made by third parties in this regard.
f) The Organiser, the Promoters, the Technical Partner and the Partners recognise the intellectual and/or industrial property rights of the individual Teams, as a whole, inherent to the concepts developed and/or the Proposals submitted by them; each Team remains fully responsible for the protection of any innovative and/or original element of the Project from inappropriate use (registration application, patent application, etc.), through the means provided for this purpose by law, including the payment of any commission or cost incurred.
g) The Participants acknowledge that the Projects may be the subject of communication, dissemination and/or publication within the Event and/or through means and communication media that may be used to promote the Event itself (even after it has taken place) and that this will entail the visibility of the Projects to all Participants in the Event and/or to the community targeted by the communication actions. To this end, they hereby authorise the Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners to communicate, disclose and/or publish the Projects, in whole or in part, both for the purposes of the Hackathon and for purposes related to promotional campaigns and internal and external advertising. To this end, each Participant or Team grants the Organiser Campania New Steel, the Technical Partner Codemotion, the Promoters and the Partners of the Event a free, non-exclusive right of use, without limits of time and space, of the Projects presented during the Event, for the purposes set out in these Regulations. Therefore, each Participant and/or Team hereby authorises the Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners of the Event to use and publish their Project-related information on the Website and/or on other analogue, digital and paper communication channels (e.g. on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn). In the event of the Projects being reused, the Participant or the Team will be mentioned by name. In any case, the Organiser, the Promoters, the Technical Partner and the Partners assume no responsibility in the event of unlawful or unauthorised use of the idea or work and/or any development and realisation of the same and/or the Project related to it by anyone who has become aware of it, and therefore the Participants waive any claim for damages and/or compensation against Campania NewSteel, Innova Camera, Codemotion and the Partners of the Event for any reason, motive and/or cause.
10. Option right
a) Participants hereby confirm that, should they succeed as winners, both in Teams and individually, they will recognise an option right in favour of the Partners holding the challenges for the purchase of the related Project. This right may be exercised for a period of 12 months from the conclusion of the Event.
b) Within this period, the Partner will notify the Participant or each member of the winning Team of any intention to purchase the Project, under conditions to be negotiated within 30 days from the date of the aforementioned notification, with a separate agreement.
c) If, during the period of validity of the aforementioned option right, the individual Participant or members of the winning Team receive a financial offer from a third party for the purchase of the Project, they are required to promptly inform the Partner in order to enable it to exercise, within 30 days of notification, the aforementioned option right, for a consideration equal to that offered by the third party. If no agreement is reached, the Participants of the winning teams may accept the financial proposal of the third party.
11. Filming of the event and authorisation to use images
The Participant is aware that during the Event, the Organiser, Promoters, Technical Partner and Partners may take photographs and make audio-video recordings (hereinafter referred to as the “Material“) that may also involve the Participant. By registering for the Event, the Participant authorises Codemotion, the Organiser, the Promoters and the Partners, free of charge, to record their image during the Event and to use the aforementioned Material for the creation of photographic and audiovisual content and other promotional material relating to the Event itself, including through reductions or adaptations. Said Material may be used for distribution on online communication channels and for subsequent publication in print, distribution and broadcast through any means of communication available to the Organiser, Promoters, Codemotion and Partners, following transfer of the recordings to any medium. The Participant also authorises the Organiser, Promoters, Codemotion and Event Partners, free of charge, to publish images and audio-video recordings relating to them on the websites and social media profiles used for the Event.
In the event that participants are participating as part of a team, the participant who registers for the Event declares, under their own responsibility, that the other members of the team are aware of the content of the Rules and authorise Codemotion, the Organiser, the Promoters and the Partners of the Event to use their image in the forms and for the purposes set out in this article.
The licences and any other authorisations referred to in this article shall be understood to be of indefinite duration, free of charge and irrevocable, except in cases where there is a risk of serious damage to the image and/or reputation of the Participant.
12. Privacy
The data provided by Participants for registration and participation in the Hackathon are processed by the Organiser and the Technical Partner as independent data controllers, in full compliance with European and national legislation in force (Reg. 2016/679 GDPR and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended), as indicated in the respective privacy policies (“Campania NewSteel Privacy Policy“) and (“Codemotion Privacy Policy“), attached to these Regulations.
13. Acceptance of the Hackathon Regulations
Registration, enrolment and participation in the Hackathon imply full and unreserved acceptance by Participants of these Regulations, as well as the Terms and Conditions of the Codemotion Platform available at the following address www.codemotion.com, which form an integral and substantive part of these Regulations.

These Regulations govern the relationship between the Organiser, the Promoters, the Technical Partner and the Partners, and the Participant alone and do assign any rights to third parties. If the Organiser finds that a Participant has violated the rules or the guidelines set out in the proposals submitted, it shall have the right to immediately exclude the Participant from the Event.
14. Publication and validity of the Regulations
These Regulations have been drawn up in Italian.
These Regulations are valid and effective from the date of publication.
The Organiser and Technical Partner reserve the right to make changes to these Regulations at any time prior to the Project evaluation phase, also without prior notice. In this case, each Participant will be informed through a message sent to the email address provided during registration. If an individual Participant or Team does not agree with the changes made to the Rules, they may withdraw their participation in the Eventup until the start of the Project evaluation phase by sending an email to progetti@codemotion.it. In the latter case, no liability may be attributed to the Organiser, Technical Partner and/or Partners following the withdrawal of Participants or Teams from the Hackathon.
The legal requirements for applying the rules governing public auctions do not apply. All matters relating to the organisation of the Event, the selection of Participants, the awarding of prizes and, in general, the running of the Event, are to be considered confidential information belonging exclusively to the Organiser. Accordingly, no information other than that published during the Event will be provided or disclosed without the prior authorisation of the Organiser, nor is the display of documents that remain internal for all purposes permitted (by way of example, the members of the Judging Panel and/or the Organiser will not be required to disclose to anyone the scores obtained by participants during voting, nor the ranking of non-winning Participants).
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the Event, in whole or in part, at any time. In the event of the Event being cancelled for any reason, the Organiser will promptly notify participants via the website. All Participants hereby waive any right to claim compensation for damages – including actual costs incurred in preparing the Project and any travel and accommodation expenses, etc. – related to the cancellation of the Contest, regardless of the cause or reasons for such cancellation.
15. Applicable law and dispute resolution
The relations between the Participants and the Organiser, the Technical Partner, the Promoters and the Partners are governed by Italian law, according to which these Regulations shall be interpreted and applied.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Regulations, including those relating to their validity, effectiveness, interpretation, execution and termination, shall be settled exclusively by the Court of Naples.
Pursuant to and for the purposes of Articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code, the Participant declares that they have carefully read and specifically approved the following clauses: Article 3 (Registration for the Hackathon), Article 4 (Conduct of the Hackathon), Article 5 (Judging and evaluation), Article 6 (Benefits for participants and prizes), Article 7 (Obligations and responsibilities of participants), Article 8 (Limitation of liability), Article 9 (Intellectual property rights); Article 11 (Recording of the event and authorisation to use images); Article 13 (Acceptance of the Hackathon Regulations) Article 14 (Publication and validity of the Regulations) Article 15 (Applicable law and dispute resolution).

Campania NewSteel Privacy Policy
In its capacity as Data Controller, this personal data processing policy is provided by Campania NewSteel, in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679.
Campania NewSteel will process the data collected during registration and enrolment in the Hackathon, and any additional data collected during the Hackathon.
This data may be disclosed to employees, collaborators and third parties whose services Campania NewSteel uses for the following purposes.
The data collected will be communicated to Partners for activities strictly related to the Hackathon (e.g. awarding prizes; sending communications regarding the organisation and participation in the Hackathon; managing the Hackathon).
The processing will be carried out using methods and procedures strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected, either manually or with the aid of computerised tools.
The processing will be carried out directly by the Data Controller or through third parties and service providers.
In particular, the following processing activities will be carried out:
a. the personal data indicated in the registration form will be processed in order to allow participation in the Hackathon;
b. data relating to each Team (names and surnames of members, name of the Team, photos/videos of Team members during the Hackathon, Project presented and materials produced by the Team) and data relating to each Participant (names and surnames, e-mail addresses) will be processed for promotional and marketing purposes.
The processing referred to in point (a) is required for the performance of the contract and is based on Article 6, paragraph 1, point b) of EU Regulation 2016/679.
The processing referred to in point b) above is based on the consent of the Participant(s).
The data referred to in point a) will be stored for five years after the end of the Hackathon.
The data referred to in point b) will be stored until the consent provided is revoked.
With express consent, Participants may, upon registration, authorise the disclosure of their data to the Promoting Companies in order to receive promotional messages, not necessarily related to the Hackathon.
Failure to give consent does not affect participation in the Hackathon.
At any time, the data subject may exercise their rights under Articles 15 onwards of EU Regulation 2016/679 by sending a written request to Campania NewSteel srl, via Coroglio 57 – 80124 Naples, or by sending an email to incubatore@campanianewsteel.it.
The Participant also has the right to submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority as the supervisory authority if they believe that their personal data is being processed in violation of the provisions of the law.

Codemotion Privacy Policy
In its capacity as Data Controller, this data processing policy is provided by Codemotion, in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679.
Codemotion will process the data collected during registration and enrolment in the Hackathon, and any additional data collected during the Hackathon.
